Classes to Suit every age

Baby Classes
Babies are inherently musical! Do not underestimate their ability to respond wholeheartedly to what is happening in class, from rhythmic movements to singing and instrument playing. The steady beat they heard for 9 months in their mother’s womb gives them a natural sense of steady beat and rocking. Swaying and moving to a steady beat will always calm and comfort them. They will respond to a variety of timbres and explore different instruments and sounds eagerly.
Each Kindermusik class touches baby in every learning domain - social, cognitive, emotional, physical, and of course, musical.
It is a wonderful place to create special moments to bond with your precious one.

Toddlers
Between the ages of 2 and 3 years, a child will leave babyhood behind and transform into a verbal pre- schooler, as if to say, “Look at me, I’m discovering the world!” The changes that occur during this time in all domains of development are amazing and sometimes overwhelming.
Learning to cope with and control their world and their own bodies and actions is a major task of the older toddler. Activities in a Kindermusik class can help them in this task. They have equally strong desires for closeness to their parents and for discovering their emerging independence.
“The foundations of all aspects of a child’s competence, personality and temperament are being set for life during this extraordinary year and a half (1½ - 3). What parents do with and for their children at this time matters a great deal – for now and for a lifetime. Toddlerhood is also one of the most delicious periods of human life.” (Kylie Pruett, author of 'Me, Myself and I').
In this period of childhood development marked by exploration of emotions (sometimes intense), thus receiving the affectionate nickname the “terrible twos", music becomes a wonderful tool for helping them learn to identify and understand these emotions.
At Kindermusik, we expect and embrace these changes in your toddlers.

Pre-schoolers

"Look at me! I'm Three!"
Energy and movement permeate this age group because exuberant three= and four-year-olds love to move! With growing coordination and interest in their peers, they observe, analyze, teach and imitate each other's movements and play.
They can be outgoing and boastful, characteristics that reflect their growing desire for independence and pride in accomplishment.
Talk, Talk Talk! is something new for this age. Expressive language opens up in this year and every need, want, like and dislike can now be shared verbally, along with some pretty imaginative stories. So as an educator, we love to Listen, Listen, Listen!
Cooperative play and sharing become easier as social situations are more readily understood and accepted. They enjoy discovering, comparing, making choices, problem solving, finding patterns and making best friends.
And finally, more than ever, the integration of movement, language, emotions and social interaction tap into the child's natural musicianship and developing musical skills. And as always, Kindermusik is there to bring out the best in your children during these wondrous years!
Family & All Ages
Family Style classes are multi‐age, multi‐child classes. You will see how music helps your families laugh together, share, take turns, and how musical learning really can be a family bonding experience. The little ones watch the older ones – and learn from them.
BABIES benefit from the joyous singing, the abundant smiles and expressive faces and voices, especially those coming from brothers or sisters!
TODDLERS weave in and out of mum’s or dad’s arms, dance independently or swoop in their parent’s arms, making new friends along the way.
OLDER CHILDREN imitate, initiate, and find inventive ways to play games to practice skills that are appropriate to their level, and lead the younger children, parents and teacher in exploration.
PARENTS sing, dance, prance, hop and feel great about being with their children and community in the classroom! Even grandparents, aunts/uncles, babysitters and family friends are welcome to attend!
There is an old African saying: "It takes a whole village to raise a child".
And nowhere is this is more evident than in our Family Style classes, with everyone participating together as a group and enjoying the time spent together helping each other make music (not to mention just having good ol' plain fun!)
